Troubleshooting
I forgot my username or password
You can always check your username and password by re-entering your
information on the SMC Student Email
& Network Account Request Form
I can't get an account from accounts.smc.edu
There are several possibilities. You may not be currently registered
at SMC. You may have entered your ID, name, or date of birth incorrectly.
You may not be enrolled at this time, or the semester that you are enrolled
has not yet started.
My account doesn't work / I am still having problems
You can go to any computer lab and ask the lab assistant there for
assistance. If they can't solve your problem you can communicate
with the SMC Postmaster via e-mail (postmaster@smc.edu)
Can I change my password?
No, you cannot change your password.
I am skipping a semester; will I lose my SMC account?
Yes. Accounts are disabled the first semester (Fall or Spring) that
a student is not enrolled. Your account will not be disabled if you
skip the Winter or Summer sessions.
For any other library related problems you can always stop by the Reference
Desk or use the Ask-a-Librarian
service on the Library website.
