- Arms Control Association [A] national nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to promoting public understanding of and support for effective arms control policies.
- Federation of American Scientists Arms Sales Monitoring Project This program "works for restraint in the global production and trade of weapons." Searchable site includes information about the project's campaign areas (such as terrorism, subsidies, small arms, landmines, and ballistic missiles), as well as numerous publications. Offers arms sales statistics, and links to related organizations and information. From the Federation of American Scientists.
- CISAC - Center for International Security and Cooperation This website is produced by Stanford University's Institute for International Studies, and is a multidisciplinary community dedicated to research and training in issues of international security.
- Federation of American Scientists The Federation of American Scientists conducts analysis and advocacy on science, technology and public policy, including national security, nuclear weapons, arms sales, biological hazards, secrecy, education technology, information technology, energy and the environment. FAS is a privately-funded non-profit 501c3 organization whose Board of Sponsors includes 58 of America's Nobel laureates in the sciences.
- SIPRI - Stockholm International Peace Research Institute The SIPRI Institute conducts research on questions of conflict and cooperation of importance for international peace and security, with the aim of contributing to an understanding of the conditions for peaceful solutions of international conflicts and for a stable peace.
- Union of Concerned Scientists The UCS "augment[s] rigorous scientific analysis with innovative thinking and committed citizen advocacy to build a cleaner, healthier environment and a safer world." Programs address global security and nuclear weapons amongst other topics.
- UNICEF Taking Aim At Small Arms This site focuses on the destructive capacities of small arms, especially where children are the victims.
- U.S. State Department - Bureau of Arms Control The Bureau of Arms Control is responsible for international agreements on conventional, chemical/biological, and strategic forces, treaty verification and compliance, and supporting ongoing negotiations, policy-making, and interagency implementation efforts.
- Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control This small D.C. based watchdog organization tracks the proliferation of nuclear weapons around the world.
- Commission of the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction This commission established in February 2004 "is charged with assessing whether the Intelligence Community is sufficiently authorized ... to identify and warn in a timely manner of, and to support United States Government efforts to respond to ... the proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction [WMD]." The site features a FAQ, the commission's report submitted to the president on March 31, 2005, and related material.

National Newspapers (U.S.)
Searchable index for recent issues of the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and the Christian Science Monitor. Full-text for newer issues and citations for older materials. More information on coverage
