Understanding Evolution
This is a non-commercial, education website, teaching the science and history of evolutionary biology. It helps explain what evolution is, how it works, how it factors into your life, how research in evolutionary biology is performed, and how ideas in this area have changed over time. The site is a collaborative project of the University of California Museum of Paleontology and the National Center for Science Education.
Intelligent Design?
This is a special report from the Natural History magazine. Three proponents of Intelligent Design present their views of design in the natural world. Each view is immediately followed by a response from a proponent of evolution. Includes links to related sites at the end of the report.
National Center for Science Education
This is a non-profit organization that provides “information and resources for schools, parents and concerned citizens working to keep evolution in public school science education. The site provides information on the scientific, educational, and legal aspects of the creation and evolution controversy. The organization’s members are scientists, teachers, clergy, and citizens with diverse religious affiliations.
Intelligent Design and Evolution Awareness Center
“The Intelligent Design and Evolution Awareness (IDEA) Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting intelligent design theory and fostering good - spirited discussion and a better understanding over intelligent design theory and the creation - evolution issue among students, educators, churches, and anyone else interested.”
Creationism
This page, offered via the Western Australia Technology and Industry Advisory Council site, is on the subject of "creationism science, or the belief that the biblical story of [creation] is true. The main aim of this page is to put forth an unbiased view of where creationist texts come from, what the guidelines to their science is, and why it may be a superior science when compared to evolution.
Famous Trials in American History: Tennessee vs John Scopes The Monkey Trial
In Dayton, Tennessee in 1925, John Scopes, a high school biology teacher, was charged with illegally teaching the theory of evolution. This site offers details on the importance and the background of the trial.
