How to Search General Science Full-Text       

 

1.     From SMC’s Library Databases lists, find and click General Science Full-text

 

2.     On the upper right side of the search screen, click "SearchPlus"

 

 

3.     In the "Enter terms, select options" box, type in subject /keyword terms.

Example: cloning

 

4.     At the adjacent dialogue box, choose where you want the keyword to appear.

Examples: "words anywhere", "subject", etc.

 

5.     Click the AND option if you are going to add a second term to make the results of your search smaller, more specific, and more efficient. This means that both the first and second terms must be found in all the documents retrieved.  Enter the term.

Example: cloning AND human

 

6.     Click the OR option if you are going to add a second term to make your search results broader, less specific, and more comprehensive. This means that either the first or the second term must be contained in all retrieved documents.

Enter the term.

Example: cloning OR genetic engineering
