Reorganization: Strategic Focus
In the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist
attacks on the U. S. and the failure of national security systems to
circumvent them, this document on reorganization of the FBI was issued on
May 29, 2002. The new order of priorities:
- Protect the United States from terrorist attack.
- Protect the United States against foreign intelligence operations
and espionage.
- Protect the United States against cyber-based attacks and
high-technology crimes.
- Combat public corruption at all levels.
- Protect civil rights.
- Combat transnational and national criminal organizations and
enterprises.
- Combat major white-collar crime.
- Combat significant violent crime.
- Support federal, state, municipal, and international partners.
- Upgrade technology to successfully perform the FBI's mission.

Encyclopedia Americana Includes 45,000 articles, plus thousands of hypertext
links to web sites featuring additional data. It is updated quarterly.
Encyclopedia, Funk and Wagnalls New World Provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.
