Bureau of Justice Statistics
This Department of Justice website offers a wealth of information and statistics on crime in America, including a section on "Victim Characteristics" which analyzes crime by gender as well as age, race, and other factors.

links to web sites featuring additional data. It is updated quarterly.
Encyclopedia, Funk and Wagnalls New World Provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.
