  • Family Violence Prevention Fund 
    "The FVPF works to end domestic violence and help women and children whose lives are devastated by abuse, because every person has the right to live in a home free of violence." The wealth of information on this site may be more useful to those involved in trying to stop domestic violence and helping the victims of battering. There are sections for health care professionals, workplace managers, and police and justice officials; descriptions of private and public programs that have been successful; etc.

  • Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE) 
    Provides support and advocacy for victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, concentrating on the underserved, such as lesbians and straight and gay men. Maintains a list of speakers, including their biographies, a directory of services for specific groups, annotated links and reading suggestions, and a link to a domestic violence bulletin board.

    From the U.S. Justice Department, information about the Violence Against Women Act, the National Domestic Violence Hotline telephone number (800-799-SAFE), national and local resources for victims and others, federal grant programs and documents, statistics, and speeches about the problem.

  • Women's Law Initiative 
    A "nationwide online resource for women and girls living with or escaping domestic violence." It provides clear instructions on laws pertaining to, and procedures necessary to obtain, restraining orders in all 50 states. There are also definitions of domestic violence and related terms, news bulletins, guidelines for personal safety and for leaving an abusive relationship, an "Am I Being Abused?" checklist, and links to other resources.

Health Source: Consumer Edition offers information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health. Has full text for nearly 300 journals.
