exhaustive list of information resources available, should be helpful in getting started

The following websites (in alphabetical order) will help you with your research on

- Center for Digital Commerce - Syracuse
University
The Center's purpose is "to conduct research and provide strategic analyses in all
areas of digital and electronic commerce." The site provides research, working
papers, and news and events.
- Ecommerce-Guide.com
This site's goal is "to provide the single best source of independent,
up-to-date information about electronic commerce." Includes daily news, feature
articles, product guides, case studies, software reviews, an events calendar,
discussion forums, and a glossary. Searchable.
- Center for Research in Electronic Commerce
(University of Texas, Austin)
This research and educational site includes the Center's working papers and articles, and
provides access to e-commerce websites, publications and news.
- CommerceNet
This non-profit consortium of business, government, technology and academic leaders
develops and implements new eCommerce technologies and business practices worldwide.
The site summarizes initiatives and projects, membership and the community,
news and events, and research reports (for which you must register), and provides links to
eCommerce resources.
- E-Commerce Guidebook (EG)
NetNations Communications, Inc., a domain name registration and web hosting company
provides a practical ecommerce tutorial, a directory of companies that provide Payment
Gateways for online transactions, and links to related resources.
- E-Commerce Times
"24-hour e-business news and analysis."
- IDG.net
IDG.net offers "extensive online technology content on the Internet."
News and features, how-to, and research information is provided for the
topic of "E-Business." Some of the information provided is freely available,
some requires the reader to register, and some is for sale.
- Internet Advertising Resource Guide
Provides descriptive links to Internet advertising web resources that include information
on planning, development, management, research and teaching.
- Electronic Commerce - Page by Will Yancey,

Includes links to websites about the general issues of electronic commerce, taxation
of electronic commerce, and vendors of software for e-commerce.
Electronic Commerce Page of the Virtual Library
Part of The WWW Virtual Library, a catalog of the web
created and run by a loose confederation of volunteers, this directory provides links to
business, research, and technical information about e-commerce.

Library Databases relevant to e-commerce
In addition to finding information in periodicals, you can look up particular vendors
or companies in the Dun & Bradstreet Million Dollar Database or in FIS Online.
There are several electronic books about e-commerce. You can access these books
through the library catalog or through the NetLibrary Database listed below.
Databases may include magazine, newspaper and journal articles. Off-campus users, please note: you
must be a Santa Monica College student, faculty or staff member to use these services.
ABI/INFORM Business news and information from more than 410 full text journals.
Coverage includes all subject areas related to business.
Business Source Premier Business Source Premier provides full text for nearly 8200 serials.
Coverage includes all subject areas related to business.
Regional Business News Regional Business News provides full text coverage for
regional business publications. Includes coverage of 75 business
journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and
rural areas within the United States.
Academic Search Premier, MasterFile Premier Academic Search Premier and MasterFile Premier provide
full text for over 6200 periodicals including full text
for more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals. Coverage spans
virtually every area of academic study and offers information
dating as far back as 1975.
National Newspapers (U.S.) Searchable index for recent issues of the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and the Christian Science Monitor. Full-text for newer issues and citations for older materials. More information on coverage
Newspaper Source (Regional, National and International) Provides selected full text for 25 national (U.S.) and international newspapers. The database also contains full text television & radio news transcripts, and selected full text for more than 200 regional (U.S.) newspapers.
NetLibrary Over 10,000 electronic books (e-books) from leading university, trade and professional publishers. Titles across all subject areas. Includes an extensive collection of e-books in the public domain, featuring classics in literature and history. (One maximum simultaneous
