  • Building Blocks for Youth 
    Informative site on issues relating to juvenile crime and justice. Building Blocks for Youth is a group of children's advocates, law enforcement officials, and others dedicated to protecting and advocating for minority youths involved in the justice system. Topics covered include youths in the adult criminal justice system, race issues, "get tough" on juveniles legislation, juvenile courts, and the dangers of incarcerating juveniles with adult offenders. The Web site includes an online newsletter, reports, fact sheets, and news articles and links.

  • ABA Juvenile Justice Center
    In the rapidly changing juvenile justice system, this site by the American Bar Association provides information and advocacy, including many links to other sites concerning juvenile criminal matters. A special page presents information on the death penalty as applied to individuals who committed murder while a juvenile. The site also offers publications relating to juvenile justice and adequate representation of juveniles.

ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center contains more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 980 educational and education-related journals.

Professional Development Collection
Over 550 full-text journals of interest to professional educators, librarians and education researchers. Offers information on a wide variety of educational topics ranging from children's health and development to pedagogical theory and practice. This database also contains more than 200 educational reports.

National Newspapers (U.S.)
Searchable index for recent issues of the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and the Christian Science Monitor. Full-text for newer issues and citations for older materials. More information on coverage

Newspaper Source (Regional, National and International)
Provides selected full text for 25 national (U.S.) and international newspapers. The database also contains full text television & radio news transcripts, and selected full text for more than 200 regional (U.S.) newspapers.

Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection
Provides coverage of nearly 550 full text journals, covering topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.

Health Source
Health Source: Consumer Edition offers information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health. Has full text for nearly 300 journals.

Back issues of over 300 scholarly journals in a wide variety of disciplines: African American Studies, African Studies, Anthropology, Archeology, Art and Architecture, Asian Studies, Ecology, Economics, Education, Finance, Geography, History, Language & Literature, Latin American Studies, Mathematics, Music, Middle East Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Population Studies, Slavic Studies, Sociology and Statistics.

Philosophy and Religion Collection
Covers such topics as epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language, moral philosophy and the history of philosophy, world religions, biblical studies, religious history. Includes more than 300 full text journals.

RAND California
An extensive database on California and its cities and counties. Includes information on California public policy issues, statistics on business, employment, population, real estate, and crime rates, school test scores and monthly reports on the California economy.
