BLS: Wages, Earnings, and Benefits

"BLS [U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics] publishes a large amount of information on the wages, earnings, and benefits of workers. Generally, this information is categorized in one or more of the following ways: Geographic area (national, regional, State, metropolitan area, or county data); Occupation (such as teacher); Industry (such as manufacturing). Additional categories, such as age, sex, or union membership, may be used in some cases."

BLS Household Data Annual Averages

More statistical data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics regarding the "median usual weekly earnings of full-time wage and salary workers by detailed occupation and sex."

California State Employment Development Department: Occupational Wage Data." 

This site offers wage and salary information for California in the form of "wages by area: State and regional wages for 700 occupations, organized by geographical area, using Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes'; and "wages by occupation: Local wages for 15-40 occupations per geographical area per year, organized by occupational title, using Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) codes."

Regional Business News
Regional Business News provides full text coverage for regional business publications. Includes coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States.

Academic Search Premier, MasterFile Premier
Academic Search Premier and MasterFile Premier provide full text for over 6200 periodicals including full text for more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals. Coverage spans virtually every area of academic study and offers information dating as far back as 1975.

Encyclopedia Americana
Includes 45,000 articles, plus thousands of hypertext links to web sites featuring additional data. It is updated quarterly.

Encyclopedia, Funk and Wagnalls New World
Provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.

National Newspapers (U.S.)
Searchable index for recent issues of the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and the Christian Science Monitor. Full-text for newer issues and citations for older materials. More information on coverage

Newspaper Source (Regional, National and International)
